Roselyn, Rising 12th Grader

We are excited to share the remarkable experience of Roselyn, a talented and aspiring pre-med student, who recently attended the Syracuse Pre-College Program. The program offered an intensive and diverse curriculum that exposed Roselyn to various health professions and ignited her passion for medicine.

Throughout the program, Roselyn immersed herself in a multitude of classes from biomedical engineering to forensics, biology, gene studies, and even a mindful course.

The experience broadened her perspective on the different aspects of healthcare, inspiring her to explore various avenues within the profession.

Furthermore, Roselyn's experience at the Syracuse Precollege Program helped her gain a deeper understanding of her preferences for her future academic pursuits. The exposure to a large campus made her realize that she preferred a more intimate setting and a smaller community. Additionally, she developed a desire to be closer to home, cherishing the support and familiarity it offered.

Eileen, Match More Manager

My name is Eileen, and I am truly honored to say I am a Match alumna and now the Match More Manager. Reflecting on my journey, I can't help but marvel at the incredible path that has led me here—a path that was illuminated by a transformative experience during my time at Match.

It all began when I embarked on a journey with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) to Alaska through Match. Little did I know that this adventure would not only expose me to the great outdoors but also ignite a passion within me that would shape the trajectory of my life in ways I couldn't have imagined.

The high school experience I had with Match and NOLS was a voyage of self-discovery and voyage that allowed me to explore new horizons and unearth a fervor for something entirely unfamiliar to me before—nature and the outdoors. This newfound passion took me by surprise, creating a current of enthusiasm that would eventually guide me to where I stand today.

Looking back, I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity Match provided me to step out of my comfort zone and into the wild. That experience not only opened my eyes to the beauty and challenges of nature but also helped me recognize an inherent drive within myself to pursue what I felt most passionate about.

Now, as the Match More Manager, I am filled with a sense of responsibility and excitement. My role is not only to manage matriculation for summer programs but also to inspire and nurture the flames of passion within others. I want to help others discover their own uncharted territories, just as Match did for me. I am committed to giving Match students summers full of learning and growth. When the opportunity arises, I have been able to commit to making sure that kids from all walks of life are able to attend camp and experience the fun and enrichment it brings.
